RICE TRANSPLANTATION The schedule for flooding the paddy field requires the fields to be transplanted in a certain order, because the paddy has to be flooded and the soil worked into a soft mud to accept the rice seedlings. students worked together to do the transplanting efficiently. A small group of students lined up in a long row across one length, standing in the soft mud and each carrying a handful of rice seedlings. Everyone planted one seedling in the row, and then stepped back one step and planted the next row. Transplanting was hard, backbreaking task, but it was also a memorable learning experience

Curiosity has its own heights

Students at Sacred Heart School, experimented with a 700 CPR weather balloon, inflated with hydrogen gas and the payload attached was a Go Pro camera, programmed to capture images at regular intervals. The balloon was tethered and released to a controlled altitude of 500 metres to capture terrestrial images of the launch site. This marks the beginning of a series of experiments "High altitude science" to be carried out in the coming months.
